AS WE GATHER
Viewed by some as archaic and out of date (though still the subject of much debate these days), God gave His people “Ten Words,” or “practices given for the purpose of shaping the identity of God’s people when they’re lost in the desert and don’t know who they are.” (Gladding, Ten Words of Life, 22.) For Martin Luther, these words, along with the Apostles’ Creed and Lord’s Prayer, form the heart of the Christian faith. This special summer series invites us to dig deeper into the meaning of these Words, with the goal that they find a home in us, in our community of faith, and our witness.
