AS WE GATHER
The long season of Pentecost gifts us with plenteous opportunities to feed upon the Lord’s life-giving grain. As we hasten onward through this “season of green,” we arrive at the third of our reflections on Romans 8: “Life in the Spirit.” Today we are renewed and strengthened by the Holy Spirit, especially amidst times of suffering. It is the Holy Spirit – working through His means of words on a page, water, bread and wine, that we find our true strength in times of distress. With a Spirit who intercedes for us “with sighs too deep for words,” we are assured that our prayers are heard by our Father and always answered for our good. Therefore, welcome to today’s message. Welcome to Trinity. Welcome to grace.
