AS WE GATHER
As members of a community of faith, we are each given a work to do. Solomon reminds us that labor is “God’s gift to man” (Ecclesiastes 3:13). St. Paul concurs, grounding all of our work in “hope set on the living God” (1 Timothy 4:10). Jesus – both our means and model – confirms all of this as He points to the greatest work of faith in Him as our Savior (John 7:29). Therefore, rejoice as we celebrate our labor, and the joy it brings in service to Him and to others. May worship this morning lead you to celebrate your own high calling of being a laborer in Jesus’ name.
